Although asbestos use was highly concentrated in certain locations and types of industries throughout the U.S., including shipyards, manufacturing companies, industrial plants, and U.S. Navy ships, it was actually a very widespread problem across every state in the nation and at tens of thousands of locations. Tradesmen who worked at any of the jobsites that you’ll read about in this section may have been exposed to high levels of asbestos and, in turn, are at risk to develop serious medical conditions, including mesothelioma.

What You Will Find in our “Asbestos Sites by State” Directory

In order to help our visitors determine whether they were exposed to asbestos directly at a specific jobsite, we have developed this “Asbestos Sites by State” section. For each state we provide a brief historical overview of where asbestos use was most prevalent in that state as well as a listing of major cities where asbestos jobsites were located. For each major city you will then find a list of the specific companies and jobsites in that city where asbestos exposure occurred. For some of these companies and jobsites we have compiled more detailed information about them including company background and overview, the products responsible for asbestos exposure at that location and the occupations that were at the greatest risk.
