For Alexander McQueen’s resort 2014 collection, creative director Sarah Burton was inspired by 1940s, World War II style with an outing of pale neutrals, strong blues and tawny browns. To be honest I am not a very big fan from this collection. But still wanted to show it to you. This season, there is a focus on the waist with crop tops, belting and cinched cotton jackets. Although Burton’s inspiration goes back to the factory girl days, the second half of the collection evokes 60s flower child with midriff baring tops, floral motifs, crotched detailing and patchwork denim.
